Problem Statement
Despite numerous sleep-tracking apps, individuals with late sleeping habits still struggle due to poor user engagement. Most products don't sustain user interest and commitment.
"How might we refine our app’s emotional design to both encourage continued use and inspire effective, positive changes in sleep routines?"
Business Assumption
01- The customer needs to get enough sleep every day, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
02- The customer needs will be solved by helping users improve their sleep habits step by step through the use of games, letting the AI analyse their data, and giving them reasonable bedtime suggestions.
03- The customers are (or will be) people with sleep problems, who potentially lack self-discipline.
04- The customer wants an app that can help them gradually develop good sleep habits from our service.
05- The customers can also read bedtime stories for adults from our service.
06- I will get my customer base by using social media for greater exposure to the app, and getting influencers to promote our product.
07- I will make money by advanced services that require users to join a membership to unlock.
08- My primary competition is the Sleep Cycle.
09- We will beat the competition by allowing users to form good sleep habits through a game which can help them build healthy routines, rather than simply recording their sleep quality.
10- My biggest risk is creating a boring sleep tracker app that does not create engagement.
11- We will solve the risk by user research to understand the deep needs of users, and especially their emotional needs.
12- What are the assumptions we have that if proven false will make the project fail?
We could potentially make the user feel uncomfortable, or have them find the app too rigid to be able to stick to their sleep goals.
